In my own personal opinion, Kanye is still – in his own words – “swimming in whack juice.”
You may disagree with me. You may be one of the half million people that went out to buy his CD or downloaded it from iTunes this week, but the only way I will be listening to this shit is from a burn from a friend.
There’s nothing wrong with knowing you have great talent. There’s nothing wrong with taking pride in your work. There’s nothing wrong with being disappointed about losing awards at award shows. There’s nothing wrong with taking bad reviews of your work to heart. But I just think the more people enable him and buy his music, the more it will make his big, fat, chipmunk head bigger and bigger.
I just want this dude to get over himself and realize the world doesn’t revolve around Kanye. And to also realize…
- That everyone is not gonna always think you’re better than other artists and therefore, sometimes you won’t win all the awards.
- That musical tastes differ and preference on rap flows aren’t all the same, and so you may not get the best written reviews from some media outlets.
- That MTV will survive without your appearances and your music. They don’t give a fuck that you’re boycotting them! They don’t give a fuck that you want to celebrate your achievement with them. They care about ratings and sales dollars – and you being missing from their programming will not make a big impact on them.
- EVERYONE DOES NOT HAVE TO PRAISE YOU… OR KISS YOUR ASS KANYE.
I’m not the only one annoyed. Jeff Garlin was a guest on Kimmel last night as well, and much to my delight mocked the bullshit Kanye was spitting – as well as his gear:
Go sit your Louis Vuitton purse carrying ass down in a corner somewhere and be happy about what you DO HAVE!
