Who the FUCK Has Trouble Believing the Earth IS NOT FLAT???

It’s been quite the past few days for your girl. I’ve got this new project I’m working on that’s kicking my ass and taking up ALL my free time. I just hate when I can’t pay attention to the news and pop culture so that I can get my blog on. Being able to write out your thoughts is a great creative release.

So one thing that really got my attention – other than OJ Simpson’s dumb ass – was as I was getting ready to leave the house this morning, The View was on my TV (don’t ask why… I think it was on ABC from the night before) and I happened to catch Sherri Shepherd trying to explain that she knows the earth is round. “Huh???” I said to myself. What the heck??? Who the hell doesn’t know that the earth is round? When they beam back pictures from the space shuttle, it’s round. When you’re traveling on a plane, you can see the curvature of the earth.

Apparently, yesterday she got asked the question of whether or not she thought the world was round from Whoopi Goldberg when they were discussing religion and science.

Here’s the video:

Ok… I am not one to knock those true believers who go word-for-word on what the bible says, but sometimes you just have to be f’n real and cut the bullshit. It’s like people who say dinosaurs didn’t really exist because they aren’t in the bible. Ummm … yes they did, they got fuckin’ big ass bones that are dug up all over the earth from millions of years ago.

Whatever I believe is not important, but again, when we have niggas on TV talkin’ crazy, they get lumped into the ALL BLACK PEOPLE pool. And even though Whoopi is on The View to balance out Sherri’s coonery, it still just pisses me off. Yes, there are people from other groups who are deeply religious and will be on TV saying the same thing, but I just wish Sherri could have given a more articulate, smarter response (You can disagree with me. That's the beautiful thing about free speech: leave a comment or post on your own blog and share the link.) Another thing that annoys me with Sherri on The View is she's the loud, eye-buckin', neck rollin' black woman stereotype. Bossip.com has a GREAT discussion going on in their comments section on this story. Check it out here.
